Take me out to the Ballgame…

I only had a chance to get to one game this summer, but there’s nothing like seeing a sport, live!  Any sport, actually.

Never could understand cricket on TV, but after a few minutes at a contest in Melbourne, Australia it all made perfect sense.  Never liked hockey on TV either, but seeing the Flyers and Bruins at the old Boston Garden?  Wow!  Just amazing.

Similar to Fenway, back in the older Yankee Stadium, you’d get off the train, walk beside the brownish walled buildings, over the gray cemented city sidewalks, across the concrete of the arena entrance, through a portal… and into a beautifully gorgeous, green and blue wonderland.

The new Yankee Stadium is far more open, so the contrast isn’t as stark, but for me, it’s still a thrill.
